RUA features powerful works by two of New Zealand’s choreographic Arts Laureates.

Whenua is a new double bill program showcasing unique and brilliant creative voices from Aotearoa New Zealand.

The New Zealand Dance Company (NZDC) returned to the ASB Waterfront Theatre to premiere Stage of Being, a thrilling double bill celebration of choreographic voices from Aotearoa’s Sāmoan and Chinese dance makers.

This playful site-specific dance/theatre work created by Arts Laureate Ross McCormack considers the reverence we place on objects housed within formal spaces such as art galleries, museums and libraries and our behaviour in relationship to the conventions of these buildings.

Exploring an ancient sequence of nature in The Fibonacci and the blurred lines between fiction and reality in Uku – Behind the Canvas, Night Light premiered in Tāmaki Makaurau in 2022 to critical and audience acclaim.

A Matariki journey through stars, sea, mountains and moon for the whole whānau.

Exploring the openness of movement, the Innate series are process-driven works to take us into new spaces of discovery, disruption and connectedness.

PREMIERE AND TOUR 29 March - 5 April : Rooted in a deep connection to the land and winds of Lake Taupō, 100 Winds uses the metaphor of wind and music to explore the shifting cultural, political, and social currents within New Zealand’s Māori and Pākehā communities.
