Alistair Deverick

Alistair Deverick is a drummer and recording artist based in Auckland. As a drummer he performs with a diverse portfolio of acts including Lawrence Arabia, Jol Mulholland and the Carnivorous Plant Society. He spent much of 2010 and 2012 touring the world with The Ruby Suns and a large part of 2014 on a world tour with Neil Finn.

Alistair also produces and engineers music; producing music for such artists as Jesse Sheehan, Chelsea Jade and Lisa Crawley as well as his solo moniker “Boycrush”, which grew from an invitation in 2011 to attend the prestigious Red Bull Music Academy in Madrid.

His second EP Girls On Top was nominated for a New Zealand Music Award and premiered on The Guardian. In 2018 Alistair was also nominated for Best Electronic Artist at the Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards. He has recently become involved with composing for dance with The New Zealand Dance Company and also Dance Plant Collective, with whom he collaborated to choreograph his entire album in a season that won Best Music and Best Costumes at the 2019 Auckland Fringe Festival.
