
Brendan Meek
Board Chair
Brendan is passionate about showcasing Kiwi creativity. He brings deep expertise in national and international touring, company management, and cross-sector collaboration - having held roles with Cirque du Soleil, the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, and the Royal New Zealand Ballet. His career spans the full spectrum of a national arts organisation, from dancer and technical production crew to executive leadership.
Brendan’s current focus includes sustainable operations, budget modelling, and strategic development across the arts and cultural sector.
Born and raised in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, Brendan is an alumnus of the New Zealand School of Dance and the Royal New Zealand Ballet. He is a former Principal Shell Scholar (now the Todd Scholarship) and holds a Master of Business Administration from Victoria University of Wellington.
