Lucy Lynch

Lucy graduated with a Bachelor of Performing and Screen Arts majoring in Contemporary Dance from UNITEC in 2011. During her studies she performed in works by renowned choreographers including Michael Parmenter, Neil Ieremia, Malia Johnston, Shona McCullagh, Katie Burton and Sarah Foster-Sproull. Lucy was a dancer in Black Grace’s 2011 The Urban Youth Movement and seconded with Black Grace Dance Company in her third year of University.

After graduating, Lucy was offered an internship with The New Zealand Dance Company for the development project Rotunda. Lucy was then offered an apprenticeship and later performed in the company’s premiere launch season of Language of Living in 2012. In 2013, Lucy was appointed one of eight professional dancers in The New Zealand Dance Company and has been lucky enough to be involved with four national tours and three international tours as well as the 2017 premiere of Kiss The Sky.

In between projects, Lucy has performed in various shows such as World of Wearable Art, Tempo Dance Festival, The Live Series, Short and Sweet, The Big Rethink, Auckland Fringe Festival, Electrique Burlesque, The New Zealand Body Arts Awards, The En Route Performance Series and various gigs with Vospertron.

Lucy has been a dancer with NZDC since its premiere in 2012 and joined NZDC in 2018 as the new Intermediate/Advanced Contemporary Dance Class tutor.
