Hannah Tasker-Poland

Hannah Tasker-Poland is a multi-faceted performing artist based in Tāmaki Makaurau, Aotearoa/Auckland, New Zealand. Her body of work is as a dancer, choreographer, actor, SPFX body paint performer, stunt performer, burlesque artist, model, producer and muse.

Hannah is the Director of arts company projectMUSE and is currently developing her first full-length dance-theatre work of the same name debuting in November 2019.

A graduate of Unitec (BA PASA Contemporary Dance), her dance background includes Atamira Dance Company, Borderline Arts Ensemble, Footnote NZ Dance, World of Wearable Arts, Southern Lights Dance Company and as a founding member of The New Zealand Dance Company from 2012 - 2015.

She is a regular on the Auckland Theatre Company stage and most recently the arena-extravaganza Pleasuredome: The Musical, and works as an actor & stunt performer on major feature films such as The Hobbit, Mortal Engines and Ghost In The Shell and TV series such as Ash vs Evil Dead and Spartacus.

She has been a SPFX body paint model and performance specialist for over a 15 years, and is a prolific NZ burlesque artist, known for her innovative, avant-garde and physically brilliant performances that she has brought to the industry over the past decade.

In her time off-stage Hannah loves connecting with the dance community as a guest tutor at Unitec and Independance NZ, as the contemporary technique tutor for The New Zealand Dance Company's Int/Adv Contemporary Classes, and by facilitating movement and performance workshops for artists from multiple performance backgrounds such as dance, theatre, circus, pole dance and burlesque.
