As an awarded graduate of the New Zealand School of Dance, Caroline has worked in Aotearoa New Zealand and abroad for a number of choreographers including Douglas Wright, Michael Parmenter, Shona McCullagh, Ann Dewey, Paul Jenden, Lyne Pringle, Lisa Densem, Claire O’Neil and Mary-Jane O’Reilly.

Granted a CNZ study grant, Caroline travelled to New York to study Klein technique whilst performing with Avila/Weeks Dance (USA) and Barak Marshall (Israel/USA); then onto Europe where she landed in Brussels dancing for X-group (under the prestegious Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker, Belgium), Els Soutaart (Belgium), Company Paulo Ribeiro (Portugal) and on a danceWEB scholarship at ImPulsTanz (Vienna).

With a passion for dance film, Caroline returned to New Zealand, gained a degree in Broadcasting Communications and worked in the film industry for five years whilst creating dance film artworks. During this time she directed TV commercials as was nominated for the Australian 'AWARDS' awards for her directing and editing of the 2005 Amnesty International TV campaign.

Caroline has been with The New Zealand Dance Company since its inception. She has taken on the roles of artistic manager, rehearsal director, videographer, graphic designer, photographer and interim Chief Executive. She is currently developing an interactive VR dance film and continues to explore her passion for multi-media collaborations and the intersection between moving image and dance.
